Media personality Somizi Mhlongo will address his pending divorce from estranged husband Mohale Motaung in the much-anticipated season 5 of his reality TV show, Living The Dream With Somizi Mhlongo.
In a trailer of the show, which is set to premiere on May 4, the Idols SA judge delves into the details of his divorce settlement with Motaung.
Mhlongo will also speak about the allegations of physical abuse made by Motaung against him last year. Motaung told City Press that he was not approached by the show’s producers to share his side of the story, but said he was OK with Mhlongo discussing their failed marriage.

The two are set to battle it out in court after the mediation talks to settle their divorce amicably reportedly failed. The talks had been ongoing since June last year.
The estranged couple confirmed their divorce after Motaung made the scathing abuse allegations against the former Metro FM host in a leaked audio recording last year. In the audio, Motaung alleged that Mhlongo had assaulted him following a disagreement.
In the trailer of the new season, Mhlongo has a sit-down with his long-term friend and actress Lorcia Cooper who asks him about the abuse allegations.

Motaung said he was informed by the new production company, Dopezuluboi Productions, that he would not feature in the show after being part of the previous seasons. “They just told me that the season is going on. They were just informing me that I will not be a part of the show,” he said.
Season 5 of Living The Dream With Somizi moves from Mzansi Magic to the popular streaming platform Showmax, with new episodes dropping every Wednesday.
Viewers can expect to see media personalities including Pearl Thusi, Shauwn Mkhize, Vusi Nova, Kelly Khumalo and Lerato Kganyago.
Mhlongo’s daughter, Bahumi and her actress mother Palesa Madisakwane will also feature on the show.
In a statement this week, Mhlongo said:
Candice Fangueiro, head of content at Showmax, dubbed Mhlongo “one of the most influential figures in pop culture in South Africa”, adding that the media personality was worth investing in.
“His wedding special, Somizi and Mohale: The Union, was the union of the year and set a then record for the most first day views on Showmax at launch. Having told the story of the wedding, which appeared to many almost like a fairytale, for balance we wanted to explore everything that followed.”
