It is the same script every year. DA federal chairperson Helen Zille sends out a flurry of tweets in which she either questions the democratic dispensation, regrets having elevated black people to the leadership of the DA, or extols the virtues of colonialism and insists democracy is no different from the apartheid era.

Most people, especially black people, are hugely offended and the DA sort of disagrees with her, but lacks the guts to distance itself completely and condemn her behaviour.
