The dismal performance of the ANC in the local government elections last year and mounting cases of corruption have raised concerns about what needs to be done to close ranks, unite and reposition the ANC, if it is to survive as a peoples’ assembly.
Even so, the concept of closing ranks is not a simple phenomenon. It requires serious political debate and education.
