Considering the inequality levels that already exist in this country as a result of its history, people who are locked out of studying after matric get stuck in a cycle of poverty.

Experts say it makes sense for government to provide universal funding for tertiary students to see better outcomes as far as poverty, unemployment and economic growth are concerned.
