The 3 000% import tariff on South African sparkling wine going to Egypt could disappear completely in five years under the new African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement.

Catherine Grant Makokera, director of the Tutwa Consulting Group and a trade policy expert, says this tariff reduction offers excellent opportunities for South African sparkling wine producers who want to export to the rest of Africa.
