Non-executive director takes home R550K a year, but well below the top ten listed companies

Non-executive directors (NEDs) of all JSE-listed companies go home with about R554 000 a year, but this is meagre compared with the median of R3.8 million that their peers pocket at the JSE’s top ten companies.

The median remuneration that non-executive chairmen of JSE-listed companies receive for their work is R934 000. But for the top ten, the median is R11.4 million.
