Nearly $120 trillion (R2 000 trillion) will have to be invested in renewable energy by 2050 to achieve the goal of a carbon-free world, says Mark Lacey, head of resource equities at international asset manager Schroders.

The world’s move away from a fossil fuel-powered to a green economy – and the consequent greater demand for clean energy technologies – offer excellent opportunities for companies to focus on this development. They also offer great opportunities for investors in these companies.
