Across the length and breadth of the land, there is consensus that erstwhile ANC presidential hopeful Lindiwe Sisulu should have spoken about the R1 billion SA Tourism proposal before the party’s conference in Nasrec, Johannesburg, in December.
Had she done so, the consensus goes, the legions of Spurs fans who populate ANC branches from Ekurhuleni and Port Shepstone to Vhembe and Kakamas would have stood up to proclaim her name. Partisan public intellectuals and analysts would have spoken of her exalted record and pronounced on her advanced ideas on many of the challenges our republic and our world face.
