President Donald Trump is alleging that there have been widespread irregularities in this year’s US presidential elections, but he has failed to provide any evidence. His unproven claims have exposed the fragility of democracy.

The US does not have an electoral body like our Electoral Commission of SA. Instead, it has 13 000 independent local entities, each with its own procedures.
