The Covid-19 coronavirus is spreading rapidly despite government putting strict measures in place in an attempt to stem the spread.

On June 22 Health Minister Zweli Mkhize announced that the number of cases had passed the 100 000 mark.

President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the country would go into lockdown to slow down the spread of the virus on Thursday March 26.

The Covid-19 coronavirus has claimed more than 3 900 lives in South Africa.
