A fight between brothers over their mother's house could open a can of worms about corruption in the handling of deceased estates.

Details of the case were laid bare in a report from the Public Protector after a complaint was lodged by Bongani Vilakazi relating to how the estate of his mother, Thoko Makgabutlane, had been handled at the Johannesburg Master’s Office.
