Ngqabutho Nicholas Mabhena, the general-secretary of the Zimbabwe Communist Party (ZCP), says Grace Mugabe has always been a violent person.

Mabhena said he wasn’t shocked to hear the news that Mugabe – who has been Zimbabwe’s first lady since 1996 – allegedly assaulted model Gabriella Engels in Sandton at the weekend.

The ZCP was launched in Bulawayo in May this year and the purpose of the organisation was to find a solution to Zimbabwe’s tumultuous political situation.

He said because of Mugabe’s violence in Zimbabwe they call her “Doctor Stop It”.

“Her public behaviour has been problematic, she should go for anger management. In Zimbabwe we even call her Doctor Stop It,” Mabhena told City Press at the Randburg Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday afternoon.

“She recently attacked a journalist in Dubai. This gives you a character of a person who has a challenge of controlling her anger,” he said.

He explained that before she became the leader of the Zanu PF Women’s League in 2014, Mugabe was not involved in politics.

Mabhena said Mugabe always made headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Last month, the Mugabe sons were allegedly evicted from a luxury apartment in Sandton after a brawl which left a security guard injured.
