The bidding process for the appointment of the new operator of the National Lottery has been delayed by four weeks as Trade, Industry and Competition Minister Ebrahim Patel remains mum on the prepared request for proposal document.

The document is supposed to open the next round of bidding for the lucrative lottery operation contract, estimated at R130 billion.
