The case of fraud, corruption and money laundering against ANC secretary-general Ace Magashule could be heading for rocky ground as his former personal assistant – a key witness – has turned against the prosecuting authorities and has denied agreeing to testify for the state.

In correspondence with the Hawks, Moroadi Cholota says she was “surprised” to learn through the media after Magashule’s first court appearance just over a week ago that she had turned state witness against her former boss.
