Some members of the Section 194 committee into the fitness of Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane’s fitness to hold office have suggested that the walkout by her legal team on Thursday was “staged” and “planned”.
While Parliament’s legal advisor, Fatima Ebrahim, on Friday during a committee meeting, quoting a judgment of the Supreme Court of Appeal, said the court had found that counsel terminating its mandate during proceedings was an “old trick” when things did not favour them.
