Former Mpumalanga Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs MEC Mandla Msibi will remain a member of the provincial legislature after he was fired from the provincial cabinet following his arrest on Monday on charges of murder and attempted murder.

The ANC provincial executive committee (PEC) resolved on Tuesday that Msibi should step aside as MEC, PEC member and provincial elections manager.
