As week one of phase 2 of South Africa’s Covid-19 vaccination roll-out draws to a close, the major stumbling block for some provinces were the elderly citizens arriving at vaccination sites without having completed the required online preregistration.

According to provincial health departments, walk-ins led to massive delays as healthcare workers attempted to accommodate the elderly.
