Police in Gauteng are investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving in which former Ekurhuleni mayor Mzwandile Masina was alleged to have driven a state blue-light vehicle without authority and under the influence of alcohol in August 2020.

“Police can confirm that the matter you are enquiring about is a case of reckless and negligent driving. The matter is still under investigation,” Gauteng police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubela told City Press last week.
