Chairperson of the Covid-19 vaccine acquisition task team and Discovery founder Adrian Gore allayed any fears that South Africa would not be able to afford the required number of vaccines as per government’s targets.
Gore explained that government would be able to cover between 60% and 70% of the cost of the programme, and that the rest was dependent on negotiations with the private sector, which included medical aid companies.
