As the wheels of the introduction of the National Health Insurance (NHI) Bill kick into motion again in the coming weeks, after months of a lull due to the coronavirus pandemic, the DA has set its “non-negotiables” for the next phase in the legislation process.
This phase involves the processing and hearing of 121 oral submissions from entities including trade unions, hospital association groups, medical schemes, industry experts and academics – through a proposed hybrid system of engaging either virtually or at Parliament.
