The drive for clean governance remains elusive, even at the heart of the highest office in the land and right under President Cyril Ramaphosa’s nose, a Public Service Commission (PSC) report shows.

The PSC report – dated November 19 2020 – showed that not even the proximity to Ramaphosa’s office was enough to dissuade senior officials in the presidency-based department of planning, monitoring and evaluation – which is also expected to lead by example – from breaking public service regulations and processing irregular appointments for two high-paying jobs.
