To help the hunger problem, South Africa needs to deal with the food wastage problem it has.  

Stats SA’s Measuring Food Security in SA: Applying the Food Insecurity Experience Scale report shows that moderate-to-severe food insecurity affected 23.6% of South Africans in 2020, while almost 14.9% experienced severe food insecurity.
