The 3.2 million indigent households left behind in the broadcasting digital migration process will have to wait even longer after National Treasury blocked the transfer of funds allocated for the completion of the set-top boxes tender.

Last month, the Universal Service and Access Agency of SA (Usaasa) published a tender for the appointment of a service provider to secure the outstanding set-top boxes using electronic vouchers, with the closing date set for next Tuesday.
