You have to have connections to get cigarettes and alcohol in the Covid-19 coronavirus lockdown, as owners of bottle stores, taverns and shops have resorted to selling secretly from their homes – at exorbitant prices.

The business of selling cigarettes and alcohol has not stopped and most retailers in townships have resorted to delivering to their clients.

Mpumalanga police have, since the lockdown started, arrested more than 5 000 people all over the province, either for selling or being found with alcohol or cigarettes.
