Makalima had just officiated at the final match of the 2019/20 PSL season on September 21 when she welcomed City Press into her home in Roodepoort on the West Rand.

She looks a bit fatigued, having spent 59 days in the PSL “bio-bubble” – a biologically safe environment that was set up so that the league’s season could safely be completed after it was disrupted by the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.
