The law makes no distinction between voluntary and forced retrenchment, which means that the same benefits apply whether you accepted the package voluntarily or were forced to take it.

These benefits include up to R500 000 tax exemption on your package, the ability to claim retrenchment benefits, such as credit insurance, and access to the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF).
