While the president insists that the ANC’s rule be implemented, Magashule supporters say he – and they – will not yield to it.

The resolve of President Cyril Ramaphosa will be tested this week, following the expiry of the 30-day deadline for ANC members facing criminal charges to step aside, as he prepares to face a national executive committee (NEC) divided between him and his nemesis, party secretary-general Ace Magashule, who is facing charges of fraud and corruption.
