President Cyril Ramaphosa has joined the company of the likes of King Mswati of Eswatini and Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, who run “illegitimate governments” that unleash soldiers on civilians instead of providing political leadership, according to EFF leader Julius Malema.

Speaking to City Press on Friday, ahead of the party’s eighth anniversary celebrations tomorrow, Malema said he was “ashamed to be called a South African today, where a government takes bags of mealie meal and opened tinned [food] from the poor to go and destroy them”. He was referring to the operation to recover goods looted during last week’s riots.
