ANC deputy president Paul Mashatile has been prompted to beef up his security following a risk assessment by the SA Police Service (SAPS), which happened after his election as the party’s second in command at its national conference last month.

Mashatile hired the highly trained personnel who used to protect former presidents Nelson Mandela, Thabo Mbeki and Jacob Zuma.
