The Eastern Cape ANC will take disciplinary action against the defiant leadership of its Amathole region, who have refused to vacate the office, despite the disbandment of the structure.

Amathole, the second-biggest region in the province, is seen as a key base for the party’s presidential candidate Zweli Mkhize and those pushing for leadership change, while most structures there are behind ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa’s bid for a second term.
