ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa this weekend survived a full-frontal attack at Nasrec, Johannesburg, from some members of the national executive committee (NEC) to get him to step aside over the Phala Phala scandal.

Ramaphosa found himself with his back against the wall when some NEC members sensed blood and went in for the kill at the party’s first physical meeting in two years.
