The DA’s interim leader, John Steenhuisen, and federal council chairperson, Helen Zille, will most likely retain their positions when the party hosts its national congress next weekend.

About 2 000 delegates are expected to take part in the organisation’s first virtual national congress, which will elect a leadership structure that will hopefully resurrect the party from its recent slump in the polls ahead of next year’s local government elections.
