ANC presidential aspirant Zweli Mkhize has expressed great confidence about his chances of becoming the next leader of the party and has harshly criticised the factional manner in which the party hierarchy has handled the Phala Phala scandal and its attendant parliamentary process.

Now counting on the support of other candidates who want President Cyril Ramaphosa out, but whose campaigns had stalled, Mkhize said his low number of nominations compared with those of the president would count for nothing when voting took place at the upcoming Nasrec conference.
