Orlando Pirates midfielder Vincent Pule could be out of action for up to 12 weeks.
“Pule has suffered a grade III tear of the quad and could be ruled out of action to up to 12 weeks,” said Pirates on the club’s official website.
The setback befell the winger during a Bafana Bafana warm-up session before South Africa’s World Cup qualifier against Ethiopia.
Pule was set to start in the match at Bahir Dar, but was replaced by Thabiso Kutumela in the game Bafana won 3-1.
Pule, who started in all of Pirates’ seven official matches across all competitions, did not make the trip to Brazzaville, Congo, where the Bucs will face Diables Noirs in the first leg of their CAF Champions League second preliminary round. – City Press correspondent
