Growing up, Kingston (whose real name is Kofi Nahaje Sarkodie-Mensah) was enthusiastic about mimicking the moves of wrestling stars he had idolised and followed on television.

Born in Kumasi, Ghana, and raised in Texas, US, he had been exposed to the sport from a young age.
