Orlando Pirates captain Happy Jele says the club’s new signing, Thulani “Tyson” Hlatshwayo, brings leadership qualities to the team, particularly in defence, where Bucs were exposed badly over the past season.

The two have been close friends dating back to their time in the national Under-20 team and are excited to be teaming up after Hlatshwayo joined Pirates from Bidvest Wits a fortnight ago.

“First of all, he’s a leader,” Jele told City Press at the launch of the new Pirates jersey in Sandton on Tuesday.
