Mamelodi Sundowns star player Themba Zwane was the biggest winner at the PSL awards evening after winning the much-coveted Footballer of the Season award on Thursday night.
Zwane finally won the prestigious award after years of being overlooked.
The 31-year-old walked away with R500 000 for clinching three awards: Footballer of the Season (R250 000), Player’s Player of the Season (R200 000) and Midfielder of the Season (R50 000).
Sundowns had a spectacular season after winning the league championship, the Telkom Knockout and the Nedbank Cup.
Zwane was nominated alongside teammate Gaston Sirino, Peter Shalulile and Samir Nurkovic.
