Television production house Black Brain had an exclusive premiere screening of its latest prime-time telenovela titled Isitha - The Enemy at Constitution Hill Women's Prison, in Braamfontein, early this week.

Produced by Mandla N and Mpumelelo Nhlapo, the telenovela is a spinoff show on the popular series, The Black Door.

The suspense-filled drama will introduce new characters and twists to the Sokhulu family. We will find out what happened to Chuma Sokhulu, who was presumed dead in The Black Door.

The show promises to deliver thrilling drama, family feud, a tale of unity and a conflict between the Sokhulu and Ngwenya families bound by war and divided by history.

Khanyisani Kheswa, who plays Mbuso Ngwenya, an extremely cruel prince from Eswatini, said: “The role was offered to me. I did not audition. My character has been amazing.”

The actor added he played alongside Dawn Thandeka King and Lindani Nkosi, who are his parents on the show.

Mzikayise Makroti, who has appeared in shows produced by Black Brain, including Lockdown and Diep City Season 1, told City Press about his working relationship with the production.

“I did not audition for this role because I have portrayed the character of Nkanyiso, the false prophet, from The Black Door. I brought the character to this thrilling new show, Isitha.

From the character, you can expect fun, education, laughter and drama because Nka is a hustler in Esihlahleni, who does not give up but is a go-getter who does not care what other people think of him.

The cast includes Linda Sebezo, Dawn Thandeka King and Thobani Nzuza.

The show premiered on May 22 and airs weekdays at 21:30pm on etv.
