Beloved furry friend Elmo from Takalani Sesame has stepped into the big leagues and is heading his own TV special.

In support of families in South Africa during the Covid-19 pandemic, Elmo’s World News special episodes on SABC2 sees Elmo and his friends teach kids how to keep entertained indoors.

The episodes started airing yesterday at 3.30pm and will continue in the same time slot till Thursday. The English episode will air on SABC2 (DStv channel 192) on Sunday at 6.30pm.

Using their imaginations, Elmo and friends bring all the fun outdoor activities indoors, while fostering learning through play for the whole family.

Elmo was not nervous during his interview with City Press, and said that even when he gets a funny feeling like nerves in his stomach, he dances them away.

Elmo reminded all the kids that he loves them very much, and that it is okay to feel a little anxious at this time.

“If you’re feeling scared or something that makes your tummy feel strange, remember that it is okay. Because we are all feeling that way. You’re not alone!” Thank you, Elmo!
