The family of actor and former Savanna brand ambassador Hugh Masebenza has asked for privacy following mounting calls for an intervention after it emerged that he is homeless and destitute.

They have revealed that the images making the rounds on social media are indeed of Masebenza, and have appealed to the public to give them an opportunity to get him the necessary help away from the public spotlight.
