Watch Joburg Ballet’s beautiful choreographed response to Covid-19

Audiences may not have been packing out the theatre since the national lockdown, but Joburg Ballet’s dancers continue dancing. The company released a beautiful video of their choreographed response to Covid-19 called The Corona Suite.

Those interested can join the company in a variety of ways, as outlined the following press release: “Although Joburg Ballet’s dancers returned to the company’s studios under strict regulations late last month, Joburg Ballet continues to stay connected with the broader ballet world via a comprehensive programme of online classes and activities.”


  • Joburg Ballet Open Classes: visitors may join company members in a professional class with our regular and guest teachers on Wednesdays at 10am via Zoom.

Private classes for Joburg Ballet dancers and invited guests

  • Joburg Ballet Off Stage on Thursdays at 7pm on Instagram.

Live interviews by company members.


  • Joburg Ballet Master Classes with artistic director Iain MacDonald on the last Saturday of the month at 5pm via Zoom.
