When Ramaphosa met US President Joe Biden in Washington in September, he used the precious little time he spent in the White House to slip in a word about the need to end the targeted sanctions against certain Zanu-PF officials and their entities.
More recently, he told visiting Spanish President Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón, a key player in the EU, that the sanctions needed to be lifted for the sake of South Africa and the rest of the region, which is bearing the burden of Zimbabwe’s economic woes.
