Dada Morero had not even started implementing his bold plans to “fix the finances” of the City of Johannesburg, which he had claimed were a “mess” and would be a priority for his administration, when Mpho Phalatse clawed her way back to her position as the executive mayor of the city.

Morero had served as mayor for little over three weeks when the Johannesburg High Court ruled that he had occupied the position unlawfully.
