You might have had to cancel travel plans or a visit to the art gallery, but birthdays do not have a cancel or postpone option. We wait all year round to celebrate our hatch days, so it is only fitting that a celebration takes place.

So, if you have a loved one's birthday coming up during the lockdown, here is how you can celebrate regardless and make it special.

Send a celeb a shoutout on their fave social network

If you are lucky, sending a birthday shoutout request via DMs will make any celebration special. Surely your favourite celebrity checks their DMs for something out of the ordinary and would be happy to make it a special day for you?

Host a virtual house party

Open or locked room, the Houseparty app allows up to 15 participants to join a virtual live chat. Make it fun by having a themed chat, or have each person cook a meal to share virtually.

Treasure hunt

A birthday gift can be anything during the lockdown, a can of peach slices counts as a sweet present too. Once the gift is wrapped, write clues and place them around the house to find the hidden gift.

Party place

The first plan could have been to go out or visit a place. Bring the party home, even if it means turning the TV room into a dance floor. Dim the lights and break a leg.
