The reopening of South African schools is making a lot of people nervous, as fear of the spread of Covid-19 increases.

Parents are concerned their children may become infected at school, teachers worry about their own health, and many families are anxious school-going children will bring the virus into their homes.

However, the easing of lockdown restrictions has been based on scientific findings that show the benefits of face-to-face teaching outweigh the risks of the virus.
