Beauty to suit your pocket

WITH the festive season well behind us, it might feel like your bonus ended with Christmas. It's now time to get back to reality, but your bank balance might not allow you to indulge in your usual beauty routine. Here are a few beauty essentials you can try on a budget.

SKIN CARE

It’s important to buy skin care products that will help the skin recover from the hot weather conditions it experienced during the holidays.

Move! tip: Avoid harsh products as the skin might be very sensitive. Use a mask instead of exfoliators or scrubs with granules.

MOISTURISER

Dry skin can become unhealthy and unsightly. Your skin might need less moisture in summer, but it’s still essential. If creams are not your thing during the hot weather, then light lotions will do the trick.

Move! tip: Go for lotions with plenty of Vitamin E. Not only is it a great anti-oxidant, but it heals damaged skin.

BODY WASH

Go for creams to lather the body. Choose ingredients such as lavender to rejuvenate your tired body.

Move! tip: Buy larger containers with extra free grams. These last longer and are a money saver.

MAKE-UP

It’s important to choose make-up that lasts for longer periods of time without making the skin look oily and shiny.

Foundation: Liquid and mousse are best in summer. Avoid cream foundation.

Eyes: Try powder eye-shadow as it lasts longer on the eyes.

Lips: Apply primer before lipstick or gloss. It keeps the lips looking matte.

Powder: Compact always does the trick.

Move! tip: Go for make-up deals where you can get more for less. Stick to a known and trusted brand and always check the expiry date.
