Hulisani Ravele on her scary experience with a man who asked to kiss her

TV personality Hulisani Ravele recently shared an incident she had with a man who was working on her home renovations.

According to the 31-year-old, the man, who had worked for her before, inappropriately asked her for a kiss – and although this was uncalled for, it left Hulisani wondering if there’s something she did that made him harass her.

“Just another day for a woman in SA… This happened on Friday, I thought about it so much since then; questioning if I did something wrong, when, how...I’d worked with him before on something for my place, so the trust was there. When the kiss request came, I was ...Ja neh [sic],” she tweeted.

Hulisani then added that there was no other place she could have set up the meeting as the man had to take measurements in her home.

“Remembered an ex of mine who was never comfortable with me having meeting's with gents at my place & my response would be "no man, there's no need to worry, I know him"...But in this case, where measurements of my place had to be done, where else was I supposed to me with him,” she wrote.

She encouraged women to stand up and speak up for themselves when they find themselves in similar situation to hers and ended the thread by thanking her fans for their kind words, support and love.

“Ladies, I know speaking up for yourself is never easy, and the circumstances don't always lend themselves to you being able to. But where you can, do. Not just for yourself, but for the next sister who won't be able to speak up or stand up or fight off an entitled pig like this,” she added.

“Thank you for all your kinds words of love, support, and affirmation. I am ok. I know I did the right thing. Love and light,”
