This Women’s Month 5FM’s female DJs will be hitting up the party scene around the country. Similar to last year 5FM will be presenting an all-girl line-up at the four Tiger Tiger club venues in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban during the Women’s Day weekend. The Queen of Clubs events are a celebration of 5FM’s on-air talent and one that is aimed especially at the ladies.
So if it’s a serious party you’re after, join our talented DJ’s on the decks at a Tiger Tiger near you. Expect Nicole da Silva, Poppy Ntshongwana and Ms Cosmo at Tiger Tiger Pretoria on Friday, 7 August; Stephanie B and Mixi in Cape Town on Saturday, 8 August; Nicole da Silva and Fix with Tumi Voster as MC in Durban on Sunday 9 August and Poppy, Mixi and Ms Cosmo with Kgomotso Taje and Thando Thabethe as MC’s in Johannesburg on Sunday, 9 August.
The party weekend is accompanied by a “Queen of Clubs” album released by Sony Music. The album covers three genres of music; hip hop, dance and pop. The physical album is a 3-disc album and the digital release on iTunes is sold individually. The album contains some killer tracks chosen by our female DJs Fix, Poppy Ntshongwana, Thando Thabethe, Tumi Voster, Mixi, Steph B, Ms Cosmo and Nicole da Silva. Digital albums are available for pre-order on iTunes from 31 July 2015,
5FM will also be supporting presenter Thando Thabethe’s Women’s Day Netball Challenge event that takes place on the Saturday, 8 August at UJ Soweto Campus, Johannesburg. This is the second year Thando is hosting the event where all proceeds goes to Bethany Home for Abused Women.
“I am excited to be hosting it again and I hope it helps give women a voice and assists against the scourge of gender based violence in SA.” Those interested to participate are urged to mail firstname.lastname@example.org. The cost of entry is R100.”
