Avon Justine: speak out against domestic violence tip 3

Tip #3

Report gender-based violence incidents. Whether you are the victim, a family member, neighbour or a by-stander, reporting the incident could save your or the abused person’s life. More importantly it will bring attention to the abusive situation.

If you are the neighbour of a family experiencing domestic violence, you can also intervene by ringing their bell when you hear a violent situation happening (do this after you’ve called the police). If you feel that it could get dangerous, ask a few people to join you when you ring the bell.
