How to answer the four toughest interview questions

It is always better to be prepared for a job interview. The questions below and their answers will help you make your interview journey a little easier.

  • Tell us about yourself?

The interviewer is trying to find out about you, your job skills and how well you express yourself. Do not dwell on personal issues. State your best qualifications for the job. Be specific and include examples to support your statements.

  • Why should we hire you?

Most employers like asking this question. The manner in which you answer this question will give you the opportunity to stand out from the other candidates. Tell the interviewer why you are the best and what sets you apart from the rest.

  • What is your weakness?

When you are honest about your weakness, you are being genuine. You are admitting you have some growth opportunities and are not perfect. In your answer you need to include the  plan you have put into place to overcome this weakness through training or practice.

  • Where do you see yourself in five years?

Your answer should be related to how you can impact the company's bottom line.  Think about how you can achieve this in the role you’re interviewing for. In technology careers, advancing your skills is important, too. You should be able to share what areas you want to strengthen in the near term.
